Small Plane Crashes on Residential Street in LA

According to reports, a small plane crashed into several parked vehicles along a residential street in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on Thursday, according to reports.

Video from KCAL9 News had shown the scene in the Pacoima neighbourhood, with smoke emitting from the wreckage. Many vehicles seemed to be engulfed in flames.

In the footage, firefighters have landed atop one of the homes scrutinizing damage to the building and its front yard.

The crash took place shortly after 11:30 a.m. on North Sutter Avenue, close to Whiteman Airport, as per KCAL9 reports.

The plane’s pilot has been killed in the crash, KABC said. Officials reported no injuries on the ground.

Federal Aviation Administration rep Ian Gregor told the LA Times the plane crashed while nearing the nearby airport’s runway.

Gregor confirmed that the pilot was the only person about the single-engine Cessna 172, according to the newspaper.

Los Angeles fire officials told the Times the crash damaged minimum three cars. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
